Protectorii Legii // Protectors of the Law

Diorama la scara 1/72 ce prezinta Politia Franceza in actiune pe strazile din Paris in anii ’90. Vehiculele dioramei sunt o dubita Renault Traffic si un Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 achizitionate gata facute din metal. Figurinele de politisti, jandarmi si civili provin de la firma Prieser, si intreaga adiorama, a carei tema generala a fost “Politia”, a fost efectuata pe comanda. Pentru constructia decorului am folosit carton, acuarele, plastic, metal, hartie, lipici, lemn si pomul artificial gata facut. Timpul de lucru a fost 58 de zile, lucrand in medie cate 4 ore pe zi.

A special order diorama on a 1/72 scale I completed over 58 days of work. It features the French Police and Gendarmerie in action on the streets of Paris in the 90’s. I built the entire street out of hard paper, wood, plastic, metal, paper, water colors and glue, and added the artificial tree. The 2 vehicles are metal cast 1/72 scale Renault Traffic police van, and a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 6 Interceptor of the French Gendarmerie. The figurines come from Prieser from 2 sets, civilians and uniformed people. I’ve worked on this order about 4 hours a day.

P-38 Lightning / Maisto Metal Cast Model

Macheta realizata in metal si plastic a faimosului avion de vanatoare American P-38 Lightning. Acest avion este fabricat de firma Maisto, dar are cateva dezavantaje. Rotile sint direct prinse in fuselaj, partea dorsala este facuta intr-un plastic gri ce vrea sa replicheze metalul, iar insemnele de escadron nu sunt prezente pe avion. Aceasta macheta a fost remodelata, rotile au fost taiate din fuselaj, partea dorsala a fost vopsita in metal, iar conurile eliciilor si stabilizatoarele orizontale au fost vopsite in rosu precum variantele ce au luptat in Pacific.

A remodeled Maisto metal airplane, the P-38 Lightning. The gray plastic belly was painted in silver after removing the plastic wheels, and the Pacific red markings were added. Although this little metal plane is not very acurate, it looks ok for display after remodeling.

Fokker Dr.1

Macheta a avionului Fokker DR.1 la scara 1/72. Aceasta macheta provine de la firma RODEN, si este destul de dificila datorita calitatii pieselor sale. Necesita multa munca, sunt strambe, planul de asamblare nu corespunde cu piesele sau avionul real, iar abtipildele cu marcaje au tendinta de a se rupe in mici bucatele. Nu este o macheta extraordinara, si necesita multa munca si rabdare pt a fi asamblata si vopsita. Rezultatul final este satisfacator si cam atat. Acest avion este unul din cele 3 aparate pilotate de faimosul Manfred von Richtofen - Baronul Rosu, si este datat 13 Martie 1918.

The Fokker Dr.1 from RODEN on a 1/72 scale. Personaly i wouldn't recomand this model to anyone, and building it i understood why most of the modeled WW1 planes are modeled on large scales such as 1/32. This one in particular has all the problems a poor model should have. The building scheme does not in some parts match the actual plane or parts, allmost all the parts are poorly made and need a lot of work, and probbably the worst thing, it has virtually no assembly slots for the parts. It takes a huge ammount of work and patience to complete, but this is the end result after almost a full month of working on it on and off. This particular plane is one of the 3 flown by the famous Manfred von Richtofen - The Red Baron, aand it's dated March 13'th 1918. Enjoy and peace!

B-17 F Flying Fortress // Bombardier B-17 F Fortareata Zburatoare

This is the B-17 F from Academy models. It's a 1:200 scale model made quite poorly. The pieces didn't match up propperly, and needed a lot of work, so assembly took quite a bit. Another downer is that it didn't have any clear plastic pieces for the windows, so they have to be painted either in black or some metalizer. I've added the machineguns myself, because a B-17 without it's machineguns looks like a passenger aircraft :). I made them from wire painted in Gunmetal black. Despite it's drawbacks it makes an ok display model for a shelf.

Macheta bombardierului B-17 F al firmei Academy. Modelul este realizat la scara 1:200. Dezavantajele machetei sunt cateva: in primul rand piesele sunt turnate slabut, si nu se potrivesc la asamblare, trebuie slefuite, pilite; nu contine geamuri din plastic transparent, acestea fiind turnate direct in forma modelului, necesitand vopsirea in negru sau un metalizator pt efectul de geam. Modelului i s-au adaugat mitralierele facute din sarma vopsita in metalizator inchis. In total, in ciuda dezavantajelor machetei, este ok pentru un model de raft.

Junkers Ju-87 B2 "STUKA"

The JU-87 B2 Stuka From Zvezda. This little thing is a very small 1/144 scale model made for a war board game by the company. It was never designed to be painted, but i coulodn't help myself, i had to do it. I painted it for 1940, Battle of Britain. Things that need to be mentioned are that the plastic it's made from doesn't go well with paint. The paint dries as soon as it touches it, so i had to paint it Dry Brush. Second, the rear machinegun, the forward machineguns and the support antena on the cockpit were not on the model. I added them myself. I used all sorts of markings from different kits since it had only the crosses and some very big black numbers as decals. Overall it came out as a nice model for my shelf collection.

Junkers Ju-87 B2 Stuka al firmei Zvezda, la scara 1/144. Acest model a fost conceput pentru un joc de strategie, nu pentru a fi vopsit. Plasticul nu a permis decat vopsirea la pensula uscata, iar modelului i-au fost adaugate mitralierele fata, spate, antena de suport de pe carlinga, si decaluri de la alte kituri pentru a obtina varianta 1940, Batalia Marii Britanii.

Cadou de Craciun // Xmas Present

"Cadou de Craciun", diorama la scara 1/72 a unui post de mortiera in mijlocul luptelor ce s-au dat in iarna 1944-45 in timpul Bataliei din Ardeni. Diorama provine de la un tanc M-24 al firmei Revell, figurinele sunt produse tot de firma Revell, iar Jeepul MP (Politie Militara) este o macheta turnata in metal ce a fost remodelata pt aceasta diorama. Elementele adaugate in plus sunt cutia de munitii pt mortiera, cutia de munitii si cantina din spatele Jeepului, si bradul.

"XMAS PRESENT" is my latest 1/72 scale diorama. An outpost in the middle of the famous Battle of the Bulge during the winter of 1944-45. The small diorama on the base comes from the current M-24 sold by Revell, the figures are from Revell, and the jeep is a metal cast toy i bought some time ago from a toy store. The little diorama didn't include the tree or the ammo box for the mortar, i've added those myself for efect. Also, i've added a big ammo box in the back of the jeep and a US canteen (not so easy to model on such a small scale). The jeep was easy, it was already painted, all it needed was some modeler's touches. The figures are easy when you got the basic colors. The ideea behind this is that a mortar pit on the side of a road fires at a wondering German patrol, and an MP (military police, see the 2 guys near the jeep, they have armbands marked MP, and the NCO also has it visible on the helmet) pulls up in their Jeep to investigate, while the NCO calls in for support on his portable radio. I hope everybody enjoys this one :) since the hollydays are getting near. Cheers!
